In early September 2020, ZOESCOPE was engaged by NSW Health through its NSLHD’s Mental Health Drug and Alcohol unit to produce a program on their Disaster Response Team deployment to Southern NSW. The deployment took place during the devastating bushfires in the first quarter of that year.
Eleven interviews were shot over two days in early November and the completed program delivered just prior to Christmas 2020. The interviewees represented five consecutive teams that were each deployed for a period of two to three weeks to the Bega area. Among the topics discussed were their preparedness for the role and the key insights gained from the experience. The documentary-style program runs 8:56 mins.
The reception, dissemination and success of the program has spawned a further two videos scheduled for delivery, post an additional interviewee shoot, in the next couple of months. More to come on this story and now series.
